MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Alumni Networking

Every semester we pair our members with Tufts alumni working in the technology industry. These professionals occupy multiple different roles such as product managers, software engineers, data scientists, and cybersecurity experts. Students are paired with mentors based on their interests and passions. The mentorship program is an opportunity to get one-on-one advice and information and discuss academic and career choices. As of spring 2020, we use the online platform "The Herd" for pairings so you are in control of your experience. To find mentors, go to the “Explore the Community tab”,  click on “More Filters”, and expand “I identify with the following groups/programs:”. Select “WiCS (Women in Computer Science) Mentoring Program”, and click Apply.

CLUSTERS

Social Groups

Clusters are smaller groups within WiCS composed of one cluster leader and about 5-6 members. They are formed in the beginning of the school year and re-formulated when needed. Clusters are an opportunity for WiCS members to get closer to one another in informal settings and share advice on different classes and experiences in tech. Usually these groups enjoy social activities together, such as baking together, bowling, and getting coffee, and others! Sometimes they attend hackathons, conferences, and other tech related events together. Overall, clusters are a fun way to stay involved! Although pairings are created once a year, email us with the subject "Clusters" if you did not sign up but are interested.
