UNCONSCIOUS BIAS WORKSHOP
Unconscious bias is one of the biggest challenges in tech. Whether you are a woman in tech who has experienced bias, an ally who is trying to learn how to be less biased towards your fellow classmates and colleagues, or a Professor who wants to gain more insight on the issue we are hosting a panel with Slalom Build to learn how to “check your blind spot”.

Tufts alumna Emma Pannullo, a senior researcher at Systems and Technology Research, will be joining us for a tech talk on Tuesday (10/27) at 6:00pm EST. Her talk will be on “Autonomous Decision-making for Radio Frequency Systems”, and she will also share her experiences as a woman in tech and a member of the STR team. At Tufts, Emma was an electrical engineer and part of Tufts Jumbocode!

Want to start a personal project but don’t know how to get started? Need collaborators to help make your project idea a reality? Want to learn about tools such as Github and Jira? Tufts Women in Computer Science is hosting a virtual “Personal Project Workshop” at our WICS Study Space, 1st Floor VH, Halligan Sococo (https://app.sococo.com/meet/Floor1VHWiCSStudySpace). The workshop will be guided by Professor James Intriligator, who will give you the best tips and advice to start your own project effectively.

BOSTON CYBERNETICS WORKSHOP
This hands-on workshop teaches the fundamentals of software, software vulnerabilities, and how to leverage those vulnerabilities to gain control of software, and thus the systems on which they run. Simply put, hacking. Students will learn hacking for fun and profit. No prior experience needed. Limited Capacity: 18 people.
